Install and sign in

Silico runs through the desktop app. You do not need to install a command-line tool or connect to a compute cluster yourself.

Before you begin

You need a GitHub account authorized for your Silico deployment and access to at least one Lab. Use the same GitHub account whenever you sign in. If a teammate is adding you to an existing organization, sign in to the deployment once so they can find your account, then ask them to add you from Organization settings → Members.

Install the desktop app

Download the latest Silico desktop app, open the installer, and move Silico into your Applications folder.

Launch Silico and click Continue with GitHub. Authentication opens in your system browser so you can use your existing GitHub session or password manager. Return to the desktop app when sign-in completes.

Open your Silico Lab

If your Lab already appears under Connections, select it and click Open. If it does not, click Add connection and choose the Silico Lab available to your GitHub account. Hosted Labs connect directly; you do not need SSH details.

Silico remembers your identity securely in the operating system keychain. On later visits, open the desktop app and choose your organization; you should not need to sign in every time.

If you expected to see a Lab and it is missing, first confirm that you signed in with the GitHub account that received the invitation.
